Is Laser hair Removal Permanent Or Temporary

If you're looking into laser hair removal as an option to get rid of unwanted hair, you may doubt about the results you can expect to achieve. Is laser hair removal permanent or temporary?
According to the FDA, laser hair removal is a good option for permanent hair reduction, and the American Electrology Association claims that electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal treatment. Laser is permanent hair reduction and is guaranteed to deactivate 30 to 70% of your hair follicles so that the hairs don’t grow out for approximately two years. After the two year time frame, some of the hairs will grow out again but they will be thinner and sparser. To deactivate them again all you have to do is get one treatment every year to keep up the results.
Hair grows in cycles, with some follicles active and some dormant at any given time. Since laser energy only affects follicles in the active hair growth, or anagen, phase, hair laser removal must be done in a series of sessions to clear a treatment area, with the average patient requiring six sessions for optimal results. Each session can be expected to yield a 10 to 25 percent reduction of hair in the treatment area, with progressively less regrowth after each one.
The long-term results of laser hair removal can be affected by factors such as skin type and skin tone of the client, the thickness of skin in the treatment area, and the amount, texture and type of hair to be removed. For example, laser hair removal machine typically works best in clients with fair skin and dark hair, and thinner skinned areas, such as the bikini area or underarms, respond more readily to treatment than areas with thicker skin, such as the chin or back. If you have very sensitive skin or have a darker skin tone then the technician will have to lower the power of the laser. In these cases you may need a couple of more treatments.
Most patients will remain hair free for months or even years after laser hair treatment sessions are complete. While the treatment does produce permanent results in some patients, most will see some regrowth of hair in the treatment area and require a touch-up session after six months to a year. However, hair that does grow back after a full course of treatment is generally finer and lighter than the original hair, and there is usually a lot less of it.
So laser hair removal can result in permanent hair reduction, but you aren't guaranteed smooth, silky, hair free skin for life. However, a touch-up session once a year is sure to be a lot less troublesome than shaving, waxing or tweezing that hair away, only to see stubble emerging in days, or at best, weeks.
